Kenworth says it will add an optional factory-installed Cummins Westport ISX12 G 400hp natural gas engine to its T880 vocational truck.

Generating 14,500 ft/lbs or torque, the engine is available with a manual, automatic or Eaton UltraShift Plus transmission. Kenworth says the natural gas option for the T880 is well-suited for dump, mixers, refuse and pickup  and delivery vehicles operating up to 80,000 lbs. gross combined vehicle weight.

The engine can run on CNG or LNG fuel systems and uses a maintenance-free, three-way catalyst. It does not require diesel exhaust fluid (DEF), a diesel particular filter (DPF) or selective catalytic reduction (SCR) technology.
