Ford announced today that its F-Series trucks have been given a big job towing tiny houses across the country.

Petite Retreats, which recently unveiled two small recreation houses at the 2017 New York International Auto Show, selected Ford to take their latest houses to various stops around the U.S. this summer.

Called “Henry” and “Clara” – in honor of the founder of Ford Motor Company and his wife – these Recreation Vehicle Industry Association (RVIA) certified houses feature 181 and 252 square feet of space respectively.

“We are honored Petite Retreats selected F-Series to tow these cutting-edge tiny houses,” said Todd Eckert, Ford truck group marketing manager. “With Super Duty’s best-in-class 925 lb.-ft. of torque and up to 32,500 pounds of towing, plus F-150 with its segment-first 10-speed automatic transmission mated to an all-new 3.5-liter EcoBoost engine that helps deliver best-in-class EPA-estimated gas fuel efficiency, F-Series trucks own towing.”

Henry and Clara may be small, but they can easily exceed 9,000 pounds and 12,000 pounds, respectively. Sporting a number of innovative features and amenities, Henry and Clara are the latest Petite Retreats house rentals.

Tiny Homes 2Ford reports that towing the tiny houses will be easy thanks to features like Trailer Reverse Guidance and an exclusive 360-degree camera system with trailer view. Plus, F-150’s available class-exclusive Pro Trailer Backup Assist makes the challenge of backing up a trailer as easy as turning a knob.

Henry and Clara are on display at the New York International Auto Show, April 14-23. The cross-country road trip begins the following week, stopping first in Boston and Philadelphia, with additional locations to be determined.

Thousand Trails presented the launch of Petite Retreats, where people can research and book a range of unique vacation rentals, including tiny houses, cozy cabins, yurts and more, putting a twist on the typical vacation.
