Ford has issued two recalls for its F-150 over issues with brake lights and seats.
The first affects 950 2014 F-150s in North America and deals with an issue with the brake pedal position switch. If this switch is incorrectly adjusted it could result in a delay in the brake lights lighting up or not lighting up at all when the brake pedal is depressed.
In addition, drivers could need to use additional brake pressure to disengage cruise control, so Ford is asking affected drivers to not use cruise control until they’ve brought their trucks in to be repaired. A Ford dealer will remove and reinstall the switch for free.
The second issue affects about 135,000 2009-2014 Ford F-150s and 2014 Ford Flex SUVs and is related to a passenger seat sensing issue that could result in non-deployment of the passenger airbag in certain frontal crashes, if an adult is in the passenger seat.
Ford says it is not aware of any crashes or injuries related to either issue.
