Westport CNG Systems Beat Competition
With the growing number of natural gas trucks available in the market and to assist fleet owners with assessing their vehicle options, Westport recently conducted a comparison review between the Ford F-250 and F-350 trucks with the Westport WiNG™ Power System, and similar trucks offered by their competition.
Their findings reveal that the Ford Super Duty trucks powered with the Westport WiNG system surpassed the bi-fuel Chevrolet Silverado/GMC 2500 and the Ram 2500 HD in 15 of 18 key categories. The bi-fuel Ford Super Duty trucks offer more options and configurations, including all cab offerings (Regular, Super Cab and Crew), bed size offerings and service bodies.
When equipped with a Westport WiNG system, added fuel range of 200 to 325 miles from the CNG tank provides a combined fuel range of 650 to 775 miles. Payload rating is 4,290 lbs with a maximum towing capacity fo 12,500 lbs and the Westport warranty matches Ford warranties on all components.
