Control Garage, Basement Clutter with Sliding Shelving System

SPACE-TRAC SLIDING SHELVES STORE UP TO 75% MORE STUFF

Improve storage efficiency at about the same cost as conventional shelving

MILWAUKEE, June 7, 2012—Automotive enthusiasts, woodworkers, around-the-house handymen and hobbyists collect tools and gear the way a magnet collects nails. Pegboard, bins and static shelves can help organize all these items, but they don’t always make the most effective use of space. They can also make items toward the back of the shelf hard to identify or reach without displacing other items…often suddenly and accidentally all over the floor.

Designed to store up to 75% more material in the same footprint as conventional shelving, Space-Trac mobile shelving systems improve storage efficiency yet cost about the same as conventional shelving. These high-density, light-duty modular storage systems feature a special sliding carriage design. Wheels with automotive-grade ball bearings glide smoothly along rugged 6061-T6 aluminum guidance tracks, even with fully loaded shelves (view video).

Space-Trac enables easy access to a higher number of items by sliding to create an aisle (side-by-side model), sliding to reveal shelves or a wall behind (lateral model) or by sliding a unit forward (pull-out model). Each model comes in total storage weight capacity options of 450, 750 or 900 lbs. and measures from 60- to 72-inches tall and has shelves from 15- to 36-inches deep. Space-Trac mobile carriages are also available to retrofit existing shelves.

“Space-Trac enables you to locate shelves in spaces where ordinary shelving won’t work—using the pull-out model in a garage corner and putting a lateral model in front of another shelf are good examples,” says Dave Klumb, company president.

For serious garage organization, Klumb recommends the heavy-duty (950-lb) pull-out model because it features optional pegboards and holders for common tools and work items. The pegboard and side panels also minimize dust on the shelves, making it best suited for garage environments.

All Space-Trac components are made from high-quality materials and are assembled in the U.S.A. Space-Trac installs in about 15 minutes using a tape measure, pencil, screwdriver and hammer. The rails can be fixed to a hard surface with two-sided adhesive tape (supplied), fixed to a concrete floor with concrete anchors or simply rest on a carpeted surface.
