July U.S. Sales Increased 11 Percent
Chrysler Group reports an 11 percent increase from July 2012 in U.S. sales amounting to 140,102 units. This is the group’s best July sales since 2006. The Jeep, Dodge, Ram Truck and FIAT brands each posted year-over-year gains in July. The Ram Truck’s brand’s 31 percent increase was the largest gain of any Chrysler group brand in July.
July was the fifth-consecutive month in which the Ram Truck registered the largest year-over-year gain. Sales of the light-duty Ram pickup were up 25 percent in July, driven by the crew cab pickups, while heavy duty sales increased 35 percent.
