Some audacious truck thieves in New Jersey may get you thinking twice about vehicle security.

Over this past weekend, two commercial-grade Ford landscaping trucks with loaded trailers were swiped by thieves who simply drove into a storage area in Morris Plains, got into the trucks and drove right past the security guard with $300,000 worth of stolen property.

What’s more interesting is that the thieves were seen on a video surveillance camera getting out of an SUV in which several people were seen wearing brightly colored safety vests. Police say that the two men who took the trucks had keys to the vehicles, according to the dailyrecord.com.

The landscape company name, A-L Services Inc., was on the sides of the trucks and trailers which were taken around 11 p.m.

Those with information about the thefts are asked to call the Morris Plains Detective Bureau at 973-538-4210, or contact CrimeStoppers at 973-COP-CALL or at www.copcall.org, or text information to 274637.
