Auto Meter’s newest tach adapter uses an inductive pickup that clips onto the alternator to easily provide a tach signal.
Auto Meter, based in Sycamore, Ill., was founded in 1957 by Vern Westerberg. The company got its start in Westerberg’s backyard where he would pour sand castings and later assemble products with his sons in the family’s basement.
The company has since developed many industry-leading products from its rev control tachometers and quick responding tachometers, to its high technology LCD Competition data acquisition systems.
