Air Intake Upgrade Kit Brings More Muscle To F-150 EcoBoost
Owners of Ford’s F-150 EcoBoost who need a little more pulling power from the 3.5L V-6 can gain 40 lbs-ft of torque and 26 horsepower by installing Airaid Filter Company’s new cold-air intake system.
The Cold Air Dam Intake System panels replace the upper half of the factory intake box, while blade-style weatherstripping seals against the hood to keep hot engine compartment air away from the new open-element filter.
The new filter is massive and designed to maximize filter surface area and to supply the engine with an unrestricted supply of cool outside air.
Like the drop-in filters, these open-element filters are available with traditional oiled filter media in red, or SynthMax dry media in red, blue, and black.
When coupled with the new Airaid Modular Intake Tube that features a bifurcated design to feed the EcoBoost’s twin turbos with an unrestricted supply of clean air, the Cold Air Dam system dyno’d 26 horsepower and 40 lb-ft of torque with no other modifications needed or required.
