Hard Working Trucks took a closer look at Ram Commercial’s newly expanded Augmented Reality Upfit Configurator at The Work Truck Show.
App developer Glenn Josefosky gave us a tour of the app, which is expected to be available at dealerships next month. The program allows customers to quickly access upfits by holding up a tablet that recognizes specially placed decals on Ram vans and trucks.
Ram Trucks Marketing Manager Dave Sowers said the app provides advantages for both dealers and customers.
“If I have a sales route that I go on and see four customers with one van, and one of them is an HVAC contractor and one of them is an electrical contractor and two of them are delivery services, I can take one van out and show them all of those potential upfits on one loop. It’s a much more efficient way to do business and it’s a more engaging way to talk to that customer,” Sowers explained.
